Ever since I found part 49309 (2×2 inverted cones to us humans) I knew I needed to build a kebab shop. LEGO tends to use them in official sets as ice cream cones but come on … it’s clearly a big old spinning meat stick. I finally found the time to sit down and build out the mechanism, which was a fun little problem to solve thanks to the help of a worm gear. The back gearbox can be removed and replaced with a hand-cranked input instead, although I’m hoping I can figure out a neat way to get power from the speed regulator into the building when it’s on the layout (and not just my desk).
I’m waiting on some light kits to arrive so I get this one lit up, but for now here’s some behind the scenes shots of the construction plus a video showing the whole thing working.
